I used to work (in Amherst) with the guy who was the original bassist for the Pixies. When Frank was getting the band back together and organized after a haitus, Brain said no thanks, I'm going to college and stuff. Two years later, they'd hit the big time.
Brian, who was a very very un-emotional guy, told me this with tears in his eyes.
