Elbow is one of the UK's most over-looked groups. They're moderately successful in the UK and, I think, pretty-much unknown in most other places. Their albums can take a few spins to sink in, so don't expect instant "oooooh", but give 'em a go: here's one track each from their three albums

I usedta love 'em but was sorely disappointed in the latest album - it felt like they were veering too close to Coldplay territory.

Ooh, no! The last album is great - how can you compare that to anything like Coldplay? They're much more downbeat and sparse with nothing like the "everything including the kitchen sink" production that the very, very average X&Y had.

Never heard of them before, but I have had these tracks on repeat a couple of times, and I am now thoroughly enjoying this mood. Thanks.

Their cover of 'Independent Woman' by Destiny's Child is ossem.

I posted about them when I went to their show last summer. They were amazing live, even if they couldn't reproduce all the gorgeous harmonies on the records.

And if you don't find "Fugitive Motel" one of the most romantic tunes of all time, there's something wrong with you.
