Help me through this. One of JFJ's songs/videos is featured on the Cadillac webiste. [More:]

The song is called "Change the World." The video sort of encompasses race issues (which, tangentially or directly, encompass class issues).

But come on, it's Cadillac! Maybe the message Cadillac's ad firm is going for is: "Cadillac! It's for everyone!" Or maybe it's "Explore alternative energies!" Or "Let's erase class lines!"

But the cynic in me has a hard time believing in the above.

I don't want to feel bad about this. Tell me how it might be a good thing.

Because, man, it's Joan Fucking Jett.
The message of this video is: "Cadillac is not just for old white folks anymore."

I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing.

Apparently, she just likes Cadillacs. But, um... yeah. To me it seems pretty skeezy.

C'mon, you can be cool and like Cadillacs.

Can't you?

Also, look at it this way: I think it's cool for somebody who's been at it as long as JFJ is getting a big-name sponsor instead of playing state fairs and what not.

Joan can do no wrong.

I bet she got a big check for that. She deserves a big check. Lesser musicians get them all the time.

And there is simply no cooler car than a big ol' Caddy convertible. Everyone from Hunter S. Thompson to Boss Hogg would agree.

Amended: Joan can do no wrong, except for "Everyday People".
