This could be a double (london review of books personals) so shoot me if it is. .I am home sick[More:]and this made me laugh, no small order for the way I feel.
This is adorable. I hope I'm like these people when I'm old.

You know, but - and I don't mean this to sound mean - not lonely.

At least I know where to look for decent personal ads now I am at last thinking about maybe, just possibly, perhaps entering the world of dating again.

On preview: If I ever meet you, joshuaconner, I will have to kill you. IAMNOTOLD!!

Those personals are always terrific.

It took me a while, today, to realize that WLTM stands for "Would like to meet".

Ooh, you're right, sorry. The last one I read was someone who was 66, and so for some reason I kind of projected that on to all of them. Shoot, I'm old enough to answer some of these!

Ha! These are great. This is one of my favorites:

Ever woken up and wondered why you have that sinking feeling again? Ever stopped to think why everything seems so cold? Ever longed for the warmth of another? Ever just wanted to be able to give love and to receive a little love back? Ever married a homosexual? Well I have, buster, so save the sob-stories. Woman, 52, WLTM man to 60 willing to participate in an intense program of psychometric testing including, but not limited to, a polygraph and a lengthy discussion over wallpaper samples before we commit to any sort of relationship.

This is my favourite.
My psychotherapist suggested I place this ad. Woman, 43. Not mental, despite whatever a fear of open spaces, the colour red, the sound of rain, plastic containers, beards, percussionists, birdsong and cornflakes may suggest Box no. 01/03

When eventually calming down after a heated argument involving smashed plates, thrown cutlery, insults directed at your circus side-show of a family, and emotionally destructive sex, you should know now that I’m very unlikely to participate in that ‘no, really, I’m sorry, it was my fault’ charade. You accept all of the blame all of the time or you grow gills to breathe in the stale, bitter soup of my angry and eternal silence.
