05 January 2007

I am SICK of snow photography. We're having another snowstorm here on the Colorado front range. [More:]

Expecting 3-8 inches with 8-12 inches in the foothills (technically where I live and 9 inches at my house right now). The Colorado gods have really messed this up. The snow from the previous storm is supposed to completely melt before the next storm hits. That's like a RULE or something. That way we can all go out cycling and so on so we all don't get cabin fever. That's the charm of the front range area of Colorado. If we're really jonesing for snow, we can drive up to it. We're still dealing with the 4 to 5 feet that fell over the holidays. I'm thinking a road trip south is in order... Anything going on in New Mexico?
(Oh, and please excuse my rant, I've been a bit off kilter lately).

Anything going on in New Mexico?

Um.

This winter is weird. I was in Minnesota, in December, and the temperature didn't get below freezing. My daughter kept asking my dad when it was going to snow. She was so disappointed.

It's 75 degrees here in Virginia Beach today. WTF.

Looks like I'll have to keep driving to old Mexico.

We're having tornado warnings, and winds blowing trees down here today, in JANUARY. This stuff is supposed to happen in April.

I'll take flying trees over snow, though.

Oh yeah, BP, we had a thunderstorm on New Year's Day. Wha?

The high today was 13C in Toronto. I just came back from lunch and am still feeling hot from my walk outside. My mistake for wearing a light(!) wool jacket. In January.

Count me as another Coloradan who would gladly re-route the current storm track. Got my final interview re-scheduled YET AGAIN this morning, due to the weather.

Grrr.

I would kill for cooler weather. This very warm weather makes me feel tremendously guilty that I am not outside more often.

Speaking of tornadoes, we had one rip through on Christmas day. I drove by Embry Riddle University and it appeared as if massive blocks of Styrofoam were littered about for a mile or so. The Styrofoam was concrete. Amazing.

Here in Wisconsin, it hasn't snowed since December 1st, the grass is actually green right now (I hadn't noticed until someone mentioned it on the radio). It's 50. I think the Texas panhandle got more snow in the last month than Milwaukee

It's bloody warm in NYC as well. Light rain and 60. It's like summer in my home town in NZ.

It got up to 73 around here in Jersey today, part sun, part clouds. Now we've got a good breeze blowing, all my windows are open, and I'm just waiting for things to start blooming. I miss winter.
