BrainAmp Music improves your IQ! (?!) I'm incredibly curious as to what BrainAmp sounds like. Has anyone studied things like this, the effects of music on brain waves, etc.? For example, the effect of "trance" music, and its supposed similarities to music used in tribal rituals?
(I mean has anyone HERE studied this. Obviously people elsewhere have.)

I don't know, I listened to the sample clip on their home page and it didn't sound any special to me. I don't see why it should be more stimulating than, say, classical music.

But you didn't ask for my opinion, did you? So I'm not sure if I'm even supposed to post this comment here.

I'll have to sample the clip at home (where I have speakers, I should have mentioned that.)

What's your opinion, Daniel?

I have recently become obsessed with having the need to have ambient sound playing constantly in the background 24 - 7. Work, sleep, no matter. Perhaps binaural beats will interest you?

In this way it is possible to tune the frequency of your brain waves to particular frequencies that you have selected, using of the four bands: Delta: deep sleep, Theta: dreaming and intuitive stuff, Alpha: awake, focussed inside, and Beta: awake, focussed outside.

That's the stuff I'm talkin' about! I, um, saw a TV show on it once.

Sounds like hokum to me. EEG or neurological activity does not equal brainpower. Your brain has some of its most powerful periods of activity while you're asleep and unconscious (the part of sleep where you're not dreaming, deep sleep, also known as Slow Wave Sleep). And the brain lights up like a Christmas tree during seizures; doesn't mean you're really smart while seizing.

I know you know of what you speak E, but the extent of my interest is only that I just like the pretty sounds.

Triode, That Coffee MP3 is almost identical to something I found online recently that I have been searching high and low for. It is beautiful. Thank you for your link.
