03 January 2007

Strange things happened to me last night. [More:] Being completely exhausted from having slept only 4 hours the night before, I went to bed at ten o'clock (normally, I stay up until midnight). I woke up at half past one, lit the bedside lamp, turned off the alarm on my mobile phone and started to get dressed. Then it hit me that something wasn't quite right. I had been under the impression that I slept in and have to hurry up, but had it really been so, my father would surely have woken me up. "Hmm, let's see, I had to wake up at seven and right now, it's half past one and this makes..." But the nagging feeling that I really should get up still wouldn't leave me. In the end, I came to the conclusion that if I really had to wake up soon, someone would wake me up.

Satisfied with this solution, I crawled back to bed and fell asleep. After that, I had a dream about being on Mythbusters and not even knowing what it was that I was supposed to do.
You're still asleep, Daniel... And you're LATE. Get up! Get up! Get up!

You're still asleep, Daniel

If it only were so... Fortunately, I will have the whole day off tomorrow.

And remember, it's 2007, nobody wears pants to work anymore.

What?!? It's 2007 already? When did that happen?

You know, I just realized that what I'm doing right now is so syrreal that not in my most Kafkaesque dreams have I done something like this. I'm looking for a replacement -- for myself. I only put up the ad something like three hours ago, and I've already gotten four replies.

And this is my 600th comment. Hooray!

Was it at least an interesting myth to bust?

It was basically about turning one metal into another metal using electricity.

In the end, Jamie and Adam turned out to have made some sort of a mistake when planning the show (it was a live show) and I had to come up with something fast. I've forgotten what it was; I only remember that it involved Jamie running down a dark back alley.

The one for someone to replace me. Soon enough, someone else will start posting under this alias.

I guess I owe you an explanation. See, my New Year resolution was that I would have to reach 2007 comments by the end of the year. At the current rate (and considering that I'm going away for four months), I will never be able to post so many comments myself, at least not this year. So the obvious solution is to find myself a replacement ;)

I think your recitation is compelling evidence of time shifted abduction, Daniel Charms. The Mythbusters dream is a classic implanted memory, to cover any residual abduction memory plausibly. I'm betting you've been probed. Examine your posterior carefully for further evidence. Do not report same in clear text.

This was a very strange edition of Little Nemo.
