Reverse hangover Does anyone else have them?[More:]
So, every time I drink heavily, I wake up on the following morning ridiculously early, somewhat hyperactive, with no headache at all, and just a small uneasiness in the stomach (none at all if I didn't eat too much before drinking). I'm talking about getting home completely shitfaced at 2 am, drunk mailing until 4, and waking up as the sun rises, completely reinvigorated, being completely incapable of staying in bed, so getting up and cranking up the punk rock on the laptop, and seriously pondering driving all the way to Vancouver just to have lunch.

It sure makes your roommates love you when they wake up feeling like crap, throwing up, and with a storm going on in their heads, and you have decided to vacuum the house, listen to loud music, and incessantly talk to them, all at the same time...
I used to get those. I was still drunk, though, so it usually ended by about 2 PM with a terrific nap. :)

Man, I remember when my body did that. Now if I stay up drinking until dawn, I can't even get out of bed the next day.

Maybe that's my problem today...

You're probably still drunk, so don't drive to Vancouver. Perfectly normal for people who metabolize alcohol more slowly than others.

I never ever had hangovers. I'd always spring out of bed full of the joys.

But for me it was a bad thing. For years it helped fuel the denial of my alcoholism. I figured I couldn't possibly have a drinking problem if I could get up to a full English breakfast followed by a couple of hours at the gym.

Yeah, it means you are still drunk usually. It tends to not last forever, but it is the better kind of outcome from a night on the piss.

By reverse hangover I thought you meant feeling like crap on days when you didn't drink the night before. Because, yes, I have had those. I think I got the hangover from one night of partying a full week later once.

I'm sitting in bed with my laptop, || Everything I touch turns to crap.
