Gmail, help?! [More:]
Erm, I need to set up a gmail account and it seems that I need to have an ... invitation. Hm, what kind of exclusionary club is this? Never heard of this one before.

Well, can anyone of you please email me an invitation? Ok, please?

Many thank yous, in advance.
Gimmie your email and I can do it. :)

We keep it exclusionary by embargoing the thousands of invitations we're issued.

I haven't looked at my gmail for weeks... I have 49 invitations. Maybe I should start selling them on eBay.

Now I know why I cannot find my preferred username. Let me guess: no username for me huh?

Set up POP3 and SMTP sending and receiving so you can send/receive from your email program of choice. That's what I do and it's fantastic. There's config instructions that should be what you need. It means you can use your email app of choice rather than Gmail's somewhat crappy UI.

It's not so much about the ease of getting to it. I have email addresses with yahoo, aol, aim, gmail, a couple with hotmail, and then work. Until they all support the POP3 and SMTP, I don't think I'll be switching to Outlook or whatever at home. Although it would be nice...
