Itchy feet keep me up too late. Help me MeCha![More:]So for the past few days the bottoms of my feet have been really, really itchy, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep. It's annoying me enough that I can't fall asleep. I've tried foot cream. I've tried moisturizing lotion. I've tried hydrocortisone cream. All of them work for around 10 minutes or so and then my feet start itching like crazy again. Any ideas?
I should add that it's not athlete's foot.

Are you preggers?

Shea nut butter or Aquaphor? (with socks on, they're both greasy)

Benedryl lotion?

I've had this thing for the last few months that just as I'm drifting off to sleep, a random part of my body will start to itch. I've learned to just breathe through it, as if I move to scratch, I'm wide awake, and then it starts all over again in 10 minutes.

The other two things that immediately came to mind were diabetes and scabies. Aren't I fun to have around?

None of the above, iconomy. Thank goodness. ; )

God, it's hard to know which of those three would be the worst.

Liver disease results in itchy skin, too.

I'll just join iconomy on the "no fun" train now.

I thought of scabies too. It's just your feet? Not your wrists?

Try Gold Bond medicated wipes or Cortaid. Both work well, but only very temporarily. Failing that, take Benadryl -- it helps with the itches, and knocks you out to boot.

(By the way, when I got scabies a year ago, it was in Chicago. So, you know...)

Just my feet, specifically the bottoms of my feet.

I bought some Gold Bond spray and some Lanacane at the store so will see if either of those work. (Gold Bond spray is COOOOLD!)

sisterhavana, you don't describe much beyond the itching, but I've suffered from this on the bottoms of my feet for years and just want to make sure you weren't exhibiting similar symptoms.
