A reporter once asked Pope John Paul II how many people worked in Vatican City. The pope paused for a moment to think, and then slowly replied, "About half."
They got 14 wrong, though. Since 2002, Serbia and Montenegro agreed to split, and in June the latter was admitted to the UN as a separate member (Serbia retaining the seat they gained on admission in 2000). Technically, they also got 24 part wrong, too, because Serbia straddles the Danube but Montenegro does not even border it.
Really, I used to do better at these -- I guessed I'd come out at about 40. The one that burns is "Cook".
Oh, the other one I think they goofed on was 9, largest nations in Africa. It wasn't clear whether they meant area or population.
Question 2 is problematic as well. Canada shares ocean borders with France (St. Pierre & Miquelon) and Denmark (Greenland) as well as the US. A better answer, IMO, is "South Korea".
And seriously, who knows or cares which podunk town is the Shower Stall Capital of the Western World or whatever the hell it said. I'd bet every city and town over 10,000 people in this country has some sort of pointless title. I'd have been amused if they had asked for "Surf City USA."
