I think we all could use a little acid overkill. →[More:] I've only used LSD a few times but apparently one side effect of sustained use is the uncontrollable urge to buy a bunch effects pedals and stomp the living shit out of them. Here's some examples of the best of fried minds at work:

Damn, none of your links are working for me, jon. Though, I know of which you speak. Exhibit A is Blue Cheer's version of "Summertime Blues." Gotta love Cousin It on the drums.
I saw these at the Local 506 in Chapel Hill about a month ago. They were incredible. I was surprised at how good they were.

Just tested them. working fine here.

I always loved the post-Cream power trio bands. It's kind of what happened when the greaser kids who had been into rockabilly and garage rock starting taking acid. (both Springsteen and Seger went through a power trio phase, even the Ramones cite that era as an influence)
