Talkin' Baseball: Go Red Sox!, or What In Hell Are the M's Thinking? →[More:] Yet another reason why I love New England over the Northwest:

1. The Red Sox pick up a phenomenal pitcher from Japan who helped win the Baseball World Classic earlier this year.

2. The M's, after telling fans that Pitching Is Job #1, go out and find two middling starters and two guys from the Washington Nationals who are as threadbare as the tires on your grandmother's sedan.

I might cheer for the Cards since they are not too far away, but I have no "home" team to root for in any real sense. I am something of a Cubs fan, but that's just depressing. It is nothing more than something to pass time at this point anyway.

I was a big baseball fan in general, collected cards, watched every game I caught on TeeVee until the big strike. It just did something to me, I stopped giving a shit. Got rid of the cards and probably have not watched as many games since then as I did in one season before then. *shrugs*
