Residents of Fjuckby demand new name “Having stoically accepted years of relentless badgering, the people of Fjuckby have finally had enough. The villagers are crossing their fingers that the National Heritage Board will see it their way and grant them a new name… If Fjuckby gets its way it is conceivable that Anusviken, Arslet and Dicken may be next in line…” A follow-up to this thread.

It’s in the last-but-one paragraph that they’d like it changed to Fjukeby. Meanwhile, looks like this town got its name-change application processed already!

Well, I think these kinds of requests should be discouraged. A few places start doing it, then suddenly towns with perfectly lovely names - like Benewah - are gonna start wanting to do it too.

apparantly, there really is a "Fukumama" in Japan. You don't see them complaining.
