An amazing guy in the music biz, and by most accounts, a genuine mensch. I didn't realize (until I Googled and Wikipediaed him) he also wrote, under pseudonym, Mess Around, and other R&B tunes, or that he was also a seminal force in bringing the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin to American listeners.

How ironic he should die of complications of a fall he had in October at a Rolling Stones gig. [NYT Online Music section story link] So, so sad.

He was Nugetre.

He was involved in bringing us the bloated mess that became Led Zeppelin, as well.

RIP, great man.
