Wow. Those photos just blow me away.

The 'coons in my back yard would move in if I let them. Once one of my cats slipped outside and I called her, and up ambles a 'coon right to the door responding to my voice.

My cats love and the raccoons love to stare and sniff at each other through the glass back door.

No frickin' way! You can domesticate raccoons? I thought they were like wolverines or something.

(Maybe that's just Philly raccoons. It's a tough city.)

Dear Santa,

I want a raccoon. Please do not put it down the chimney though.

Thank you.

P.S. I have been nice, not naughty.

From what little I've read, racoons are domesticable, but do not make good pets (they are very destructive, among other things).

Where I grew up, we lived on the second floor. There was a grape arbor that led down from the porch roof. I can remember my mom waking us up in the middle of the night to see the raccoons that came to eat the grapes. We watched them from our kitchen window; they must have been like five feet from us. I love 'em!
