Perhaps it's because I can't drive (and don't know the pain of being stuck in a traffic jam) but things like this have fascinated me to no end ever since I was a kid.

They're kinda pretty. And if they keep cars moving at rush hour, they're also "engineering marvels". If not, they're really expensive art.

The mixing bowl used to be pretty simple ... it simply didn't work. It's more spaghetti-like now, but has improved traffic.

According to wikipedia , there are no Malfunction Junctions in Houston. That's just sad.

We don't really have these in the U.K. Well, we have one, but that's it. Most of the time we use ring roads for larger cities and towns. And unless you live in London, they seem to work just fine.

This is the bit where someone tells me how wrong I am

Seanyboy: These junctions pale in comparison to the M25 :7

(it, too, has its multi-level junctions, btw)
