That blows my mind. Even if Mel Gibson had nothing to do with this movie I wouldn't see it. It just doesn't look like it's any good.

The Passion of Kukulkan

Good on Mel for finding a religion even more tolerant of ritualized bloodshed than his brand of intensive Catholicism. I'm looking forward to a drunken rant against the Lords of Xibalba in the near future.

In his intro to his radio show yesterday, Michael Feldman joked that the descendants of the Maya are angry at Mel for portraying them as "the Jews of the New World."

So that'd mean that the Spaniards are the movie equivalent of the Germans under National Socialist rule? (even though the Spaniards weren't even thinking of invading the Maya in the time period that this was shot?) Eleventy-billion topics to do movies on, and sMelly Gibson has to tackle things he knows nothing about. sweeet. I hope he's got no input on any more episodes in the Mad Max series, or I'm sure they'll suck bum.
