we got tickets to see philip glass in nashville!!!→[More:] seriously, i don't think i've been this excited about seeing a concert since camper van beethoven played here in asheville a few years ago...
wow! syntax. I missed it last year here in NYC. My friends who went told me that they were mesmerized. It was phenomenal. A greek singer was performing then (Eleftheria Arvanitaki) who is very, very good. I could not find out if she will perform in Nashville as well. Let us know!
Dude, I didn't even know this was happening... but I just bought tickets for me and the partner (who is more interested in this than I thought he would be).
I am so jealous! Here in Vegas, Paris stormed off in a huff over the Billboard Awards, and Britney finally remembered she is supposed to be recording an album in Miami. All we have left for December is Kid Rock and Pam Anderson trying to convince everyone that they are still relevant.
yeah, i remember hearing about the pge performing live accompaniment to koyaanisqatsi in atlanta a few years ago... the day after it happened. i was bummed for about a month after that.
the ensemble is also playing in scottsdale, houston, and taipei. (that's a heck of a world tour right there - tennessee, arizona, texas, and taiwan) and i think philip glass is doing solo piano concerts later in the year. it's always worth checking the calendar on his website - it lists all worldwide performances of glass-related material as well as pg/pge performances.
now if i get the opportunity to see steve reich and terry riley while they're still around, that'll complete the minimalist trifecta!
I'm totally jealous, syntax. I adore Phillip Glass. About five years ago, I was working as a bellman at the hotel where he was staying with his entourage in Portland. At one point, he was standing on the sidewalk awaiting a cab. I watched in disbelief as people walked by without giving him a second glance! No paparazzi, no hordes of adoring fans demanding autographs! I was very disappointed.
