Overheard: Mmm this sandwich is so good I feel like there's music comin' out of my ears.
I know this has nothin' to do with the palate maraurder of a sandwich you've got there, but I was wondering if it was you who put me on to the work of Ron Mueck.

I'm going to check his work tomorrow afternoon on display at the Brooklyn Museum.

Joe, that wasn't me, but I'm into the sculpture of Charlie White and Patricia Piccinini. And how about Evan Penny?

Anyway, Mueck's work is great!

Wow, that sounds like one tasty sandwich!
Did you notice what kind it was?

Patricia Piccinini! That's who it was! Okay then.

Charlie White is sick with it! (in a very good way)! One of my faves.
This one is the SHIT. (no pun intended).
But it is the shit though.

Anyway, Mueck's work is great!

Your favourite hyper-realist sculptor sucks ;-)

I reckon that once you get over the 'Oooh!' factor, there's not really much going on in Mueck's work. The 'Oooh!' factor can be pretty extreme, though - look out for a piece called Spooning Couple, that one gave me the shivers. But they're still just glorified Muppets.

I wrote a pretty lenient review of this show when it was at the SNGOMA in Edinburgh - wish I'd slagged it off more, to be honest.

I saw the spooning couple. I wsn't that moved by it though.
But I still like Mueck. Looks real. Seems passionate. Great study on human form.
That's how I see it.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FREAKIN' SANDWICH?!!

i liked the review, it could have been harsher, but i, too, am more interested in making music come out my ears.

eth-- maybe it was a sousaphone on rye.

Or Lettuce, Tomato, and Double-Belled Euphonium on toasted sourdough.

The idea of something tooting out my eustachian tubes while i chew is becoming less palatable with old muppets staring at me and a monster on the can.
i'm gonna have to order the reuben.
*looks for ear coverings to brave the cold*

if i make it back, i'll bring you a pumpernickleodeon.

fueck Mueck (who is, by the way, a true genius, Specklet is as usual spot-on)-- let's talk about sandwiches. I recently discovered the beauty of culaccia, a tasty, delicious variation on the classic Culatello. The King of Cured meats. With the right bread, made from grano duro flour, and just a tiny beat of fresh butter, it's sandwich heaven -- music indeed.

Now I'm hungry
