I went. →[More:]And I had a very good time. The pub was very packed and we couldn't all sit together at first but later we managed to get a big table at the back that we all more or less fitted around.
Three of the guys I'd met before. It was a good mix of people of all ages and backgrounds, from the screechy teenager to the grumpy old woman (me).
Lots of good conversation and loads of laughs. chrismear had both a wii (or was that wee)-related and a nut-related mishap, and TheDonF tried to persuade everyone that drinking cherry beer is both (a) extra manly and (b) healthy, as it is really only fruit. No-one believed him.
When we left the pub, I think decisions were being taken about where to go on to from there (I heard a Flamenco Club, Thai restaurant and Spearmint Rhino all being mentioned) but as it was after 11pm and I live in the sticks, I got the tube home.
I absolutely loathe and detest the West End of London and the Tube late at night. Especially at this time of year. I think I was the only person on the train who wasn't paralytically drunk.
I took my Sony cybershot camera with me (an ancient old thing), but although I charged it up all day, the battery was dead, so I didn't take any pictures, but other people took thousands and I did as many shoutouts as I could possibly remember, but, as always, please know that, even if your name wasn't written down, you were all in my thoughts, bunnies!
Thank you for making me go.
