Parts of all three movies made it into storylines for the first season of Next Generation, and one story proposal for the series eventually became Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Roddenberry was pissed/offended that Genesis II was dropped by CBS in favor of the Planet of the Apes series. All I remember was that PotA was the coolest thing I saw until Star Wars ....

There were a raft of series like this in the '70s: technological holdovers wandering the post-[your catastropher here] Earth discovering a new microsociety/village/whatever each week. Really it's just Star Trek on wheels. Or tank treads. Or a hovercraft air cushion. Or through a secret global pneumatic tube.

There's no reason for me to remember these movies and shows and yet i do.
In fact, i'd like to see this one again, preferably while high.
or you could just get me high.
