I got some new speakers... and to celebrate I broke them in by playing the mefi compilation CD. It sounds so much better than it did on my ipod (or on my built-in macbook speakers), I can't even begin to tell you. →[More:]

I got these at the apple store/louvre on fifth avenue. The apple store guy told me about them when I asked his opinion on some *more expensive* speakers. These were not on display. I asked him why they weren't even on display if they were really the best speakers in the store. 'It doesn't go with our...' he gestured at all the sleek plastic 21st-century stuff behind him.

Also, carrying these home was not the smartest thing to do for someone who recently had back surgery. The subwoofer is fucking heavy. But now my musical life has seriously, seriously improved. I've never actually bought a good pair of speakers in my life.

Don't they look cool? It's like they're something out of Sky Captain.
