So why is it ... [More:]... that when I'm home alone as I am tonight and all I've done is wash my hair and just left it to dry with no product or curl booster or anything on it, it goes into the most perfect ringletty curls, but when I'm going out somewhere, even if I wash it and leave it with hours to spare for it to dry just right, it won't dry like that and I end up with it going all frizzy or just lank? Eh? Eh? Answer me that!!
Be thankful you have hair! Be thankful the top of your haid doesn't resemble a goddamn crop circle, woman!

I think I may need to um, uh, simmerrightdown.

Ugh, I know what you mean essexjan. On the weekends my hair is perfect and bouncy and not-frizzy, but during the work week it is somehow both flat AND frizzy. With no difference in routine!

My hair only looks just right if I wear a hat on it for 8 hours and then remove and shake head. and it's uncomfortable to sleep with a hat on.

And why is it that when I go for a cut, my wavy hair is uncharacteristically lank and straight, or tightly frizzed, so that the stylist can't get a sense of how it really looks 98% of the time?

(I spent eleven years going to a barber. She knew me, she knew my hair, and she always knew how to cut it so it was pretty and completely unfussy. Then I moved out of town. For a few years, I returned to Portsmouth whenever I needed a haircut, but that's proven impractical. Now I go to stylists, but eleven years without having to specify a cut has ruined me; I don't know The Hair Language, and I cannot ask for anything except, "Um, shorter?")

i am in the circle of hell that is the growing out of bangs (fringes, jan). i might look somewhat non-dorky in another six months or so. i don't even know what i want my hair to look like or how long it should be; i just decided i was tired of bangs. i can't just pin it all back - it looks too severe, so i just have hair that hangs there in different lengths.

I'm growing out my hair, too, wens; it totally bites. It's not yet at the length where it will lay smooth- it all wants to stick straight up and make me look silly. Bah.

*waves long luxurious locks at seany and dg*

it is nice to have, isn't it...

I am debating cutting off my crazy hair. I like the 6-odd-months between hair cuts though. But, I might need to be interviewing in the near future, and I think my current look screams indifference...not what I think I need to look like when hoping someone will hire me...

What I want to know is why is it that my 5 white hairs grow just above my forehead so that they are like totally visible by the blind and not in any other random place e.g. at the bottom of my neck? Now I have to spend money on highlights?! Jeez.
posted by carmina 05 December | 00:02
If you only have a few white hairs, can't you just pluck them? Highlights are so much work.

My mom says, that if you pluck one a million grows back. I listen to my mom, you see? I do not mind the work in highlights, as much as the price!

My hair is approaching 3/4" long. Time for a haircut.

I wish I had curly hair.

I'm growing mine out, too. Saturday was kinda weird - I put makeup on for the first time in months and the hair looked good and I looked like a grownup. The mister agreed. It was very weird, I never look like a grownup.
