Does anyone use Google Analytics? I'm looking at using it for a website I've designed. The organisation I'm building it for needs to track usage. Is Analytics good? Is there anything better? Comments/recommendations are most welcome.
It gives you a pretty good amount of data that you can use. The best thing about it is that it's free - I'd be surprised if you could get anything equally as good for the same low, low price. Matt's using it on MeFi (check at the bottom of a page's source to see the JavaScript for it)
I use it and awstats which is my favorite still. I like having two that you can compare. Googles gives many fun and somewhat useful graphs which can't hurt.
Great! I'll use both Google and Awstats. More information is better, as the website's for a non-profit organisation that has to do reports to the government about how the website's affecting people's interest in them. That way they can get more money from the gov't and it can go for upgrades and for me teaching others how to maintain the website (without it going to hell like the last one - no one cleaned up their code! gaah). Thanks for the advice, all.
