There's a Livejournal community dedicated to gaming tattoos as well, and BME's got a geeky-tattoo category that, in my view, cries out to be subdivided.
I also really, really like video games. Tattoos, too. But I still haven't decided on the perfect game-themed tattoo work.
Ok, I can spot all of them except:
the face in Row 1, #3
the black-and-blue guy Row 2, #4
the wolf Row 2, #6
I'm assuming the zombie is from Resident Evil
the woman with the big gun, Row 3, #4 (poorly done. ew.)
and the #1 spot. Fenrir? Who??
Anyone know what those ones are?
And I think #2 should've come in first. It's big, bright, very geeky and very well done. (Especially the black silhouettes from the handheld LCD game.)
I'm not that clued into tattoos, but seeing how many of my friend's tats which are just one or two colors seem to fade and "get fuzzy" with the passage of time, I'm forced to wonder what a lot of the really vibrant, multi-colored ones depicted here will look like. Which is why I wouldn't vote for #2. I'd probably actually vote for: the black-and-blue guy Row 2, #4 -- who is Ganon from Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Also, the wolf Row 2, #6 -- is Ameratsu from Okami (one of THE best games of 2006!)
Also, I don't think that particular Okami tattoo is all that great, but I think that, someday, I will see an Okami tattoo that will be the best videogame tattoo I've ever seen in my life.

I agree with that. I got all excited when I heard Okami tattoo, but it's just not executed that well. It's a hard visual style to get right in tattoo, I think -- so much softness and motion -- but someone will get it so right one day. Despite my fear of needles and low pain threshhold, I'm actually very close to getting a tattoo of the generic "Power On" symbol (you know, the broken circle with the line) with a kind of blue glow behind it.
