That "kissing" shot just blows me away. It's photoshopped, right? I mean, there's the Acropolis and yet behind it there's a modern southern European city. But in the foreground there's a tree I always think of as belonging in Athens (is it a cyprus or something else?) and kissing (which is ancient too).

I really have to go to Athens next time I'm "home". Well, Greece I suppose. I want to see all of it.

I was actually wondering where the hell you are. Now I know. You were in hell. Athens looks too pretty to me, too. I guess it's your photographic skillz.

GeckoD, yes these are cypresses. Very beautiful trees. But I would think of olive trees and mulberry trees first before cypresses.

What I want to know is, what are you doing there? Are you having fun? Where are you going? What do you see? I am actually dying to know. Also, about the coat.

You should be thankful they connected your phone back within a month and they might consider waving this month's service fee. You spoiled American!

One more thing I want to know: do you like Athens better than Thessaloniki?

So, the COAT. Well, bunnies, I didn't get it. I gathered my resolve, my courage and my cash, and marched right down there to get it, but when I tried it on... it was fabulous, and, oh, babies, like buttah, but... it had... omfg, big honking SHOULDER PADS. Quarterback SHOULDER PADS. Jesus wept. He wept about the SHOULDER PADS.

So, I'll keep my eyes open, and if it's still there after xmas, and marked down, I'll get it and pay a seamstress to remove or replace those monstrosities, but I couldn't justify to myself paying more than I should for a coat, then paying to have it altered on top of that. *sigh*

About Athens, I'll have more to say later - I still haven't explored enough. My friend here got sick today, so I've been staying with her serving liquids and invalid food. Mr. taz is working, of course, but he will have Thursday off, so definitely more playing then.

I thought your contributions were on the light side recently, taz. Glad you're back and posting gorgeous photos!

Oh My God I need to get out in the world more. Preferably to somewhere with green trees and water. I miss water.
