new kitten Needs a name though. She's female. We were thinking Ruby, as in Ruby Red, as she has a red streak down her back. Ideas?

Our existing dog is named Roark and our existing cat is named Bachik (kiss in Armenian.)

Looks like marty feldman. I'm a big fan of naming animals after their attributes so you could go with Igor. Or marty.

Our existing dog is named Roark

Then name the cat 'Tattoo.'

Inga, Ingrid, Lena, Etta, Ella, Dinah, Aretha, Dusty, Pippi, Polly.

All names that got rejected before we found out my mom's new cat is actually male - I kept trying to tell my mom I thought it was a boy cat - he's long haired and you can't see anything but I could feel something going on back there. The vet said he's either been neutered OR both of his testicles didn't drop. He's now named Otto and I occasionally call him One Nut.

She's quite the pretty beastie.

I like Ruby and Red would work, too. And as court siem said, she does have a bit of Marty Feldman going on eyes-wise. Suggestions: Marti, Martie, Martika, Martina, Martha.

Ruby's a good name. Cats respond well to two-syllable names ending in -y. By 'respond' I mean they learn their name so they can turn their ears towards the sound when you call them, then studiously ignore you.

Oh, and damn you k8t, I want a kitten now.

Right now we're calling her Kitteh, to distinguish her from kitty.

Thanks for the suggestions. We're trying them out.

(As we're trying to negotiate a multiple cat household.)

Jan, why not get a kitten? It is fun!

I'm quite taken at the moment by the name Roisin, which is Irish Gaelic for "rose", which I suppose could be applicable here.

We're going with Hubertina. If it was a boy, we were going to call it Hubert. (After a trip to France where we decided we were getting a new cat.)

We'll call it Tina for short. Or Teeny Weeny Tina.

Thanks all!
