Alice's Restaurant In case you missed it on the radio today here is a different version of Alice's Restaurant performed by Arlo at the Bitter End in 1967. He really did get busted for littering and it apparently kept him out of Vietnam. The church of the song is now home to the Gutherie Center. RIP Officer Obie.

Alice's Restaurant has been a Thanksgiving day tradition in my family since before I was born (as it has been, I imagine, in many other families as well). It makes for a nice half hour around noon before the cooking starts in earnest.
