Why isn't it lunch time? 25 minutes minutes until 12pm and today is really dragging. I'm really hungry and want to eat now, but if I eat now I might be hungry later, and I'm trying to avoid the snack machine. Arrrrgh.
I'm hungry too, but am about to leave to have lunch with a couple of friends at the Baker's Arms, Waltham Abbey. (Working from home today, work is finished, day is mine.)

Woohoo - it's near enough 12 for me to start stuffing my face with very tasty home-made lunch.

I think I've been to Waltham Abbey before. Regardless of that, have a great rest-of-day, EJ

essexjan, you are awesome! I should take myself out to lunch but can't be arsed.

BTGOG - I'd take myself off to lunch as well, but I've seen The Lonely Guy once too often and I've been scarred by the restaurant scene.

Hey guys, it's like *peers at the clock*, 5:41 a.m. here. Can you keep it down a bit? Please?

Ewwww, 5:41am? That's the time of day that should never ever be witnessed.

I just want a cigarette. And I leave the electronic plantation at 1pm today.

5.41 am is the time I'm usually eating breakfast, on an 'in the office' day.

BTW, lunch was lovely. Rib-eye steak, fat chips, mushrooms, tomato, onion rings, creamy pepper sauce. I was too full to think about dessert, despite the warm chocolate sponge filled with mocha ganache and served with clotted cream that was calling to me.

I just breakfasted on a bowl of Life cereal with soy juice, a glass of orange juice, and a mug of coffee. I'm playing with my brother's schipperke right now, I haven't heard a subway train since Monday morning, and I think soy gives me gas (constant but mild, it really doesn't smell bad at all *wink wink*).

What is a schipperke? Or do I even want to know?

I think I put on weight just reading that.

EJ, your lunch sounds very good. I had veg that I roasted this morning with some really tasty sweet-smoked paprika; garlic; fresh rosemary and thyme, and mixed that with couscous that was softened with hot water and freshly ground cardamom and black pepper; a couple of fresh diced tomatoes; some Feta and splattering on balsamic vinegar.

Under two hours now until I can press "the green button of freedom" (aka the XP Start > Shutdown button)

What's a schipperke? I thought you'd never ask.

My brother's schipperke, Mateen, is large for the breed (around 23 lbs). The little black dog with the big personality, he pwns all other dogs at the dog park (including rottweilers and dobermans, and excluding german shepherds, who are just too fucking serious, and great danes, whom he idolizes). He's also pretty catlike when he wants to chill.

It's 9.20 and I haven't had anything t eat yet this morning. All I've got around here is a clif bar. *sigh*

Supposedly, though, my boss is taking us all out to lunch today, and that should be fun...

Also: I want to eat Don's lunch. Real bad.

There was some of those roast veggies waiting for me at home after work. They tasted even better than at lunch time.

UK MeChatters - if your Sainsbury's has a "speciality section" look for small red+yellow tins of smoked paprika. There's both hot and sweet varieties - get the sweet as it's much nicer and is by far the best paprika I've ever had.

Specklet - know where an airport is? If so, come on over!

If only, Don.

Somebody needs to get cracking on those teleporters. Why, meetups would be a breeze!

Indeed. Stupid laws of physics and/or space time continuum (I don't know if either of those are to blame, but I need to blame something). Oh, and I can also blame not enough money and time off work. Damn you, "the man" :(

My boy and I had lunch out with burgers and fries and iced tea. Yum.

Y'know, Iced tea is something I've never had. Am I missing out?
