IRC We're discussing soy milk. Yay or nay? Come join us and give your opinion.
I avoid all soy products.

Nay. Especially in coffee. That's lightening the juice of one bean with the juice of another. That's double bean juice. There's something fundamentally weird about that.

I vote nay on soy, but yes on rice milk and almond milk.

I love soy milk. I love the sweetness.

I tried soy milk for the first time the other day, and it was ucky, but then I noticed it had been "sweetened with agave", which I never noticed because it was printed small and the box was on the top-top shelf in the the store because nobody ever buys soy milk in Greece, so a shop person had to get it down for me and after all that hubbub, of course, I didn't read the box before buying, but then I tried it, and I was all like, wtf? And it was 4 euros. Four euros! So now I'm too damaged to try again.

When I was very young, I couldn't tolerate milk, so I was fed soy milk. Now that I am older, and have no trouble with cow's milk, and on having recently tasted soy milk, I give a resounding nay!

Rice milk is awesomeness, and soy milk is okay, but animal milk is disgusting and completely illogical.

animal milk is disgusting and completely illogical.

When my dad was first diagnosed with high cholesterol, the doc told him to stop drinking so much milk.

Now, granted, this doc was a menace to the town -- and he was the only menace in town.

But his argument made a lot of sense.

Human adults, he pointed out, are the only mammals who continue consuming milk past infancy. And that just ain't right.

Since Perle might be lactose intolerant (we're waiting for the test) I've tried soy milk and there's this one brand that tastes GREAT that she loves. So yeay. But I like real milk too.

I totally agree. Soy is weird. I don't consider it food. To me, if something has to be beaten to within an inch of its life in order for it to be edible, it isn't meant to be eaten. Soy beans are like that - they require an unbelievable amount of processing to make them palatable.

Animal milk is for baby animals. OMG BABY ANIMALS!
