19 November 2006

I just called 800-555-tell to check the LA weather and it'll be in the high 80's for the next few days. This means I'll have to pack all the way from linen to wool--with several changes for each. [More:]

December in Amsterdam looks like it sticks to the 40's, so I'm not packing my snowboots.

The surgery's Tuesday; God knows how the family situation will play out. The doctor wants Daddy up and walking two days afterwards.

There was someone at the Wendy Werris reading who had also worked at my grandfather's bookstore and he asked how chupahija was. I had to tell him I no longer speak to her.
She went with my father to the Beverly Hills reading. I emailed Wendy and let her know I was coming to LA. She told me she'd like to see me, but she also mentioned seeing my mother--who IS capable of seeming charming and vivacious. I'm going to have to tell Wendy that being around my mother is not in my best interests because of symbiosis and abuse, without going into details. Yes, this is too much to tell someone I've just met, but circumtances have forced it.

I saw another mouse--and evidence of where it and the others have been-- but can't find its nest.
I hope I catch it before I leave tomorrow--I put down poison and glue traps.
Layers. The air gets trapped between them, keeping you warm. You can peel off as many or as few as you need as the temperature changes. Make sure the last layer is thin enough for the hottest conditions you expect. Good luck to your Dad.
