I have discovered the resonant frequency of my shower stall. I know I haven't posted for months, and for that I am very sorry. But I just had to let the world know...It's somewhere around the A below middle C, give or take a microtone. Every other note I hum is kind of muffled and non-committal...but that A just gets amplified and purified and fills the bathroom like a church bell. This is the most exciting thing that's happened to me all day. ok bye <3

Hey mayfly wake! It's good to see you! What else is going on? How have you been?

Hey! Not too much at the moment but I have been really busy lately; I took too many science classes for my own good this semester and have been kind of overwhelmed...but it's alright, because next semester I'm studying abroad in Brighton, England! I'm so excited. How about you?

Oh that's awesome! I really wish I had had the balls to study abroad. I have been to Brighton, though. When I was 14 years old. My (very first) boyfriend and I stumbled across a topless beach. He was awed. I was flat-chested and embarassed.

You're going to have a ball.

"I've spent 30 years in the bathroom, baby."

You were not forgotten.

Hey, Brighton is very cool, I think you'll love it there. It's also about 2 hours or so by train to London (may be quicker, I'm not sure), so there'll have to be some kind of meetup whilst you're over.

Once, whilst putting away my bike in the utility room at my old building, my friend Tom and I started humming along with the water heater. "A flat," I said. "Bullshit," said Tom. I bet him a nickel, and when we went inside and checked the note on my keyboard (we kept humming it as we walked to my apartment), he found I was right.

Still hasn't paid me that nickel, I've just realized.
