Army Ants Spoken-word genius from next week's Tom Waits triple CD "Orphans" set.
Oh yeah. I've only got part-way through that 3CD set, but there's 3 or 4 spoken-word tracks on the same disc that Army Ants came from (the "Bastards" disc). So far, so pretty damn amazing. Looking forward to hearing the rest, but 60 tracks is a bit too much of Tom in one sitting.
I tried, believe me, and I love me some Tom Waits, but I couldn't do it. A couple of years ago there was a rumour going round that his entire back catalogue was going to be remastered and reissued. I was both "yay!" and "oh noes - huge expense!"
