Vinnie Barbarino was killed 34 years ago? It was brother against brother outside a New Jersey courtroom here Tuesday morning, as the children of a local family marked by its extensive criminal history offered conflicting accounts of how their 6-year-old brother, Vincent Barbarino, was killed 34 years ago. Apparently, the poor kid was murdered in 1972. Welcome Back Kotter, with a character named Vinnie Barbarino went on the air in 1975?

My first thought, without reading the whole sorry, awful case, was wow, there really was a Vinnie Barbarino. But the facts of the case just had me in tears. That poor, poor child. Now, whenever I hear the name Vinnie Barbarino, in any context, I'll remember him.
