Is it legal to keep a deer as a pet?

Depends on the state, bigmusic. A lot of people keep cervids as pets, but sometimes the spread of disease from the tame to the wild deer make it dangerous.

If you read all about Sassy, though, you'll find that she roams free, but comes back to visit (all on her own) the folks who rescued and raised her.
