Only Revolutions [More:]

The publisher suggests alternating between Hailey & Sam, reading eight pages at a time.

Sort of awkward to do though. Not sure I will ever finish this book. Anybody else reading/done with it? Thoughts?

I'll hang up and listen to your comments.
Oh God it was awful. I tried for about 20-30 pages (of each) with the back and forth approach. That way it was both nearly incomprehensible AND repetitive. If anything I'd pick one POV and stick with it, then maybe skim the alternate version to see how it differed. I think Danielewski tried a bit too hard with this one. I really enjoyed his WRITING in House of Leaves, not the fiddly bits around it, and it seems in this book he's abandoned the writing to focus on the fiddly bits.

I'm about 50% through it. In some sense I agree with Rock Steady, it almost seems like he spent the intervening years collecting a bunch of cool sounding words instead of working on a story. I admit it is interesting to see how the POVs shift, but I'm not nearly as engaged as I was in HoL.

Yeah that is why I am not sure I will ever finish it. I wouldn't say it is awful, but it is more a gimmicky collection of ideas than a novel.
