(yousendit) music to end the world by [More:]

I love everybunny so much that I made youall a mix tape!! ... actually more like a mix mp3 playlist but it should fit nicely onto a cd.

so, uh... it's kind of dark and apocalyptic, but that's how I roll on any given Election Day.

so even if you don't already have some/all of these tracks (yo I never claimed to be super-original) you've perhaps heard them on movie soundtracks, in commercials and soforth.

disclaimer: this represents a Rather Large Download (ysi says 71 mb and change), meaning if you're allergic to electronica, download at your own risk cos this playlist might not agree with you. tho even if you are a techno-phobe, give it a whirl anyway cos it's not your generic annoying whumpa-whumpa-whumpa raver techno

best heard in order so tracklist =

1) a moment of clarity - boards of canada
2) somewhere a clock is ticking - snow patrol
3) i'm afraid of americans - bowie vs. trent reznor
4) left / right - the chemical bros
5) trip like i do - filter vs. crystal method
6) leave it - yes
7) you're so pretty - we're so pretty - charlatans uk
8) fear - rabbit in the moon vs. sarah mclaughlin
9) a prayer for england - massive attack vs. sinead o'connor
10) so this is goodbye - junior boys
11) red rain - peter gabriel
12) when the world ends - dave matthews band
13) angel - massive attack

and on review, ye gods and little fishes that took forever to upload...
Download's coming along nicely... 35 seconds later and it's mine. Looks like it's going to be a good mix! Most I've heard of, but don't have the songs, others (Junior Boys, Snow Patrol) I haven't. Thanks!

Also, since we're doing the big downloads thing, I'll put one up in a coupla minutes.

This needs some iLikeTrains. I've been meaning to post some here as they're an excellent new band. I'm out seeing Midlake tonight (w00t), but will try and get something up (baby) soon

Z_R: I have oodles of Snow Patrol, and no mix of mine would be complete without some species of overwrought collegeboy indie-emo on it :] i'd considered a Death Cab song but it just didn't flow with the others that's actually my favourite snow patrol song, off the Final Straw album - they're coming to Denvah in a couple weeks but that pile of extortionist wankers at ticketmaster have made it forbiddingly expensive for me to go ::cries:: that Junior Boys stuff is in fact shinybrightnew - it's the title cut from the phenomenal album they just released in August. I love them so much; they're like the unholy love child of an illicit tryst between Depeche Mode and Erasure... and it's like they are channeling a whole different and far cooler 80's than I suffered through.

frisbeegirl: nothing can touch the adoration I have for every last one of those songs in that monster upload you did a few weeks ago. you must like ben gibbard/postal service / dcfc at least as much as I do, hee! i'm glad you like these!

seanyboy: i've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like 'angel', regardless of how much they claim to 'hate techno'. practically everyone I know has heard it but oddly enough i've discovered that few people actually have it. I have a monstrous collection of Massive Attack roaming 'round the 55 or so gigs of feral music that's lurking in my external hard drive.

TheDonF: thanks! i've never heard of them but this has never stopped me from going hunting... :]

i'm so glad this worked out. my limited hax0r skilz with music management (plus i'm a macintard which doesn't help either), coupled with iTunes' proprietary attitudes towards anything it contains, made me nervous about trying anything this ambitious.
