Frinton sunset [More:]I do not know how to take pictures at night, so some of these are a bit blurry. And I had no tripod, so where I could I leaned the camera on the sea wall.

It was a magical sunset.
Day is done, beautifully, and reports of its demise are not premature, and yet, here at the 81st meridian, at this moment, they are. Thanks, essexjan!

Hey, those are good. I remember very little about Frinton from when I was growing up, but the beach hut brought back a couple of vague memories.

I was talking to my mum about Frinton and your story about the gates being a big local issue, and she said she wasn't surprised. Apparently, when Frinton was a new town, it was completely dry, although Wikipedia seems to suggest otherwise - maybe it was the pub thing that's confusing things.

Luckily there were a few news agents - I apparently used to persuade my grandma on a regular basis that she needed to walk me down the road to buy sweets :)
