24 October 2006

Today sucks. [More:] I woke up puking this morning. The cats are also puking, but that's not an altogether unusual occurence. I have a big bill that's due today, and I'm going to have to borrow money to pay it, which sucks. My back and ribs hurt and I'm out of ibuprofen, which I probably couldn't take anyway since my stomach is all funky. I'm out of toilet paper. My little cat needs to go to the vet because she's been wheezing.

Today is yucky. I want it to go away.
*sends major good karma mudpuppie's way in giant doses*

know exactly how you fell, been there many times.
Nothing much to say, except tomorrow can't very well be worse (right?).

Universe, lay off the pup!

None of those things sound like fun at all. I'm sorry, baby. It'll get better, I promise, just hang in there.

I feel ya, pup o' noodles.

If it helps, my first job in NH consists of working in the heart of the military industrial complex - I work for General Dynamics, who are a major weapons maker for the government. It's a temp job doing data entry, and I'm surrounded on all sides by enormous machines cranking out hundreds of machine guns and grenade launchers.

Feel better?

(and no, I'm not kidding.)

Thanks, y'all. Had some soup. Bill is paid. Friend delivered TP (and, in a very kind but somewhat obtuse gesture, tiramisu). Have taken enough dramamine that I will probably soon succumb to the loopy slumber of the non-motion-sick.

But complaining to y'all, and your kind thoughts, made me feel best of all. So thanks.

get better pup. for the sake of the viewer I won't go into details but I feel for you from knowing firsthand how godawful it is to have to puke with anything busted in the thoracic region.

cats, love 'em tho I do, are the gods own puking devices and there never seems to be much to do about it. hope y'all feel better!

not that this will help but in the vein of 'someone's always got it worse than you' my coach got a severe case of food poisoning whilst recovering from having his pelvis smashed in seven places *and* both wrists broken. according to his wife this was quite possibly their greatest test of the 'in sickness and in health' clause.

Here pups, have one of these special nausea lollipops. They've been the mainstay of my diet since about July.

And friends who will run for supplies when you're sick are the bee's knees. Yay!

On the way home today, I saw a dog pooping on a subway grate. And some of the poop fell through the grate. Whether it fell on the tracks, a train or some poor commuting schmuck, it was raining dog poop inside 14th Street station this afternoon.

Man, that's rough... my sympathies to your coach, lfr... in the future, might I suggest:

Oh, mudpuppie, I hope you feel better. Hairballs? Try a dab of Vaseline on their paws to get them to lick it off. Sore ribs? Try not to laugh.
*just kidding, sending you good thoughts and wishes*

w/r/t painful ribs -- I'll never forget when my Dad was in the hospital for major thoracic surgery. He was all scars and pain when he came out, but we sat around his bedside and made him laugh anyway with typical Irish black humor. He couldn't really laugh at all -- he wanted to, but he ended up just exhaling this thin high "haaaaaahhhhhhh" sound, tearing up, while doing his damnedest not to let the muscles of his midsection contract into full laughter. It's one of the sweetest memories I have of him.
