I would just like to say that rebuilding a computer is deeply satisfying. ...most especially so, when it's my old, wheezing Mac G4 Cube that I thought I'd have to drown in a barrel.
Yep, old Mac Daddy (its lame name) appears now to have many more Internet searches and iWork presentations and widget downloads and stuff. And since it's now on my Windows corporate network, I have access to about 2 terabytes of pure data storage to satisfy my torrent download needs.

Now if I could just get it to SHUT UP when it pops a dialog box on the screen, I'll be fine. But for now, I get to hear "Excuse Me" in electronical speak.

I took all the keys off a keyboard that stopped working ages ago and cleaned the whole thing properly this afternoon. It's my best ever keyboard in terms of speed/feel and I'm so glad I got it working again.

It was just filthy and gommed up with, mostly, food. The only annoyance is that when I reinstalled the drivers for it (it's a Packard Bell ActivBoard, so needs drivers), it deleted all my cookies. No big deal.

So yeah, to some small extent I understand your satisfaction.

It was a sad, sad day when my ol' Mac Classic presented the bomb... I'd had it for 'bout ten years. Wasn't much more than a typewriter, I realize, but we shared joyous memories together. (Doubled as an Easy Bake Oven.)
