For the Project Runway fans: A great, long interview with Tim Gunn.
Oohhh! I just read that a couple hours ago (got the link from Project Rungay). It's awesome.

Tim Gunn makes me really really really want to be a 50-year-old gay man.

I love Tim Gunn! I want him to be my friend. : )

Since we're talking about Project Runway, I'll tell you that I had a dream last night that my friend and I took a trip to Washington DC and we shared a suite with Kayne and Robert from Project Runway. : )

I want Tim Gunn to follow me around and lovingly tell me all the things I could do better.

The thing that takes a bit of the bloom off of the Tim Gunn rose is the part in the reunion show where Vincent says that Tim was bad-mouthing him. Tim denied it, but oh man--! If you listen to the podcasts, Tim is bad-mouthing Vincent up, down, left and sideways. He also called Vincent "smarmy" in one of his "Ask Tim" blogs. He does it again in this interview:

Q: Now... explain Vincent to me.

TG: I wish I could. I’d need to go to medical school, I’d need to go to psychiatry school. You know, for the life of me, I can’t. He for me is an enigma. I don’t get him.

Q: To be in that industry, I guess you have to have a tough shell and be confident, but he takes it to an almost toxic extreme.

Exactly. It’s one thing to be confident, it’s another thing to be delusional.

If that isn't bad-mouthing, I don't know what is.

Thanks for the link. It was interesting read his somewhat-oblique opinions of Jeffrey - I really didn't like him that much at the beginning of the season, but he comes from a strange place, and that makes him a better designer. He takes everything very personally, internalizes everything, and it's understandable that he would try and go on the offence every chance he got.

But seeing how much he loved his son really softened my heart. Thinking about that phone message...I'm getting a little teary even now.
