I had a crappy day. Literally.

I was driving behind a pumper truck for several miles, and it was raining today. I was running my wipers, and didn't notice that the truck ahead of me was slowly leaking its contents, since the rain and road spray were obscuring the leak.

But when I got out of my truck, it was covered in a fine mist of liquefied crap. I spent 30 minutes and $18 at the car wash, getting the gunk off my truck, being very, very thorough with the spray wand.

Frustrating. Trying to get a navigation bar to work as per graphical and user-flow design proved somewhat tricky. I work on the same floor as my company's CEO and I'm hoping he wasn't there at 7.30 in the evening. If he was he would have heard some choice language emanating from my corner of the floor. Still, it works now thanks to some CSS magic and some fancy-schmany unobtrusive JavaScript. Huzzah!

My day's good. The quad screen came back fine which eases my worries a bit.

I've had a good, productive day. I drafted a long-ish, complex-ish judgment, which took me most of the day, dealt with lots of correspondence and emails, including a lengthy exchange with one person who thinks his case is more important than anyone else's and should be dealt with RIGHT NOW (red rag to bull, try that shit on me), reviewed the work my secretary had typed, including another short judgment which I was able to finalise, had a long conversation with someone who we probably won't be able to deal with, because what he wants me to do is outside the scope of my remit, had a long walk round the dock at lunchtime, saw coots, mallards, gulls, pigeons (wood and common), geese, cormorants and grebes (plus two baby grebes).

And now I'm home, I'm not in the office tomorrow. I was trying to psyche myself up to do my work tonight, as I did last Thursday, but I'm tired, so I'll leave it.

Tomorrow morning I plan on walking into the village to take some photos for Photo Phriday.

Today was almost even better in some respects! Had a great call with a researcher and got some good play for future coverage.
