OMG!! A flying squirrel has invaded our office! He keeps sneaking out to go for an apple or something, but nobody can catch him. Teh cuteness perhaps, but also, if you're me, teh heebie-jeebies.

Where do you live, that flying squirrels invade your workspace? I don't think I've ever seen one.

Aren't gliders and flying squirrels the same thing?

This is the Maine State House, small_ruminant (my office is on the first floor over on the right). We've had mice and bats before, but this is the first flying squirrel!

small_r, NO! Very different animals, actually. Sugar gliders are Native to Australia and are marsupials. I love that word. Marrrsooopeeeulllls.

We lost one of our aircraft on a routine reconaissance mission in Maine a few weeks back. Most likely that's our pilot looking for the squirrel consulate. Please give him some nuts and tell him a S&R squad is inbound.

Rocky is free! We have these huge windows with deep sills; he finally crawled onto the sill, we opened the window, and we shooed him out. He flew away! Well, glided, anyway. Bye Rocky!
