Fat Possum Records Rules! They record all these old unknown bluesman in the South in addition to other guys. I've been sampling their free mp3s all morning.
I have very mixed feelings about Fat Possum. The Junior Kimbrough stuff is good, but the Burnside stuff that they added electronics to is awful.

I dunno about that stuff, but I'm sure every record company lays an egg once in awhile.

This is one of the best albums ever.

Fat Possum records can be gotten cheap on emusic.

I wasn't aware they'd "added" any electronics to any Burnside, though. They did for Asie Payton's release as he was dead when it came out--I have mixed feelings about the record.

My favorite recent FPR release is Heartless Bastards.

I have this T-Model Ford album. It's pretty good.

And I didn't mind the RL Burnside/electriconica stuff. The track used on the Sopranos ("It's Bad You Know") is pretty awesome. Though I like A Ass Pocket Full of Whiskey better, which was recorded with JSBX.
