My iTunes Ate My Favorite Song I know it's lame as hell, but my favorite song is the Stones' Wild Horses and my iTunes ate my favorite version - Dave Matthews singing with the Stones live. I can't make the stupid thing cough it up anywhere. I found it during the Days of Napster and we can't seem to find it online now! Can anyone come up with this file? I would be eternally in your debt.
Here it is on youtube.

I don't think I'm savvy enough to extract the sound from that. :( I could also be totally lame when it comes to this stuff, though.

Here you go. I clipped it out of the archived show hosted here. I didn't bother adding any metadata, though, so you'll want to do that.

iTunes ate quite a few of my songs a while ago. Does anybunny know why it does that?

On the Mac, most times iTunes doesn't eat the song, it just forgets the song is in the library. Rebuiliding the database fixes that.

Not sure about Windows, it might eat songs it doesn't like out of spite.

In either case, everyone should back up their music directories no matter what PC or software you use. I learned the hard way before I switched to Mac.
