Ask MeCha Two Things. I have two questions. Help?[More:]

1. I want to buy a few of the blank, hollow, beigy round spheres that you sometimes see in craft stores. I think they're made out of recycled cardboard, and once in a while, paper mache, although the paper mache ones tend to be a bit rough on the outside. Sometimes you see stackable shaker-style boxes and things made from this material - you're supposed to paint or decoupage them. I'd like to get about a dozen about the size of a softball, not a baseball, that's too small. I don't know what they're called...spheres? Balls? Orbs? What are they made from? What are they called? Does anyone know where I can get them? AC Mooore doesn't carry them, nor does Michael's. A place online would be soooo ideal.

2. Does anyone know of a good place online to send 120 film negatives to get prints made? Or put on a CD, whatever works.
Do you have Pat Catan's? I think even those boxes are made from paper mache...

I also cannot think of the name of those but I know I've seen them and I don't think they're that hard to find. Are you certain Michael's didn't have them? I know I've seen those spheres there (that's where I get my wool for knitting) before. Maybe they were just out? It is getting near snowman season.

iconomy, have you asked question #2 in the Medium Format group discussion threads on Flickr? The I Shoot Film group is another one that might be helpful.

Mats, I thought of that, but I didn't ask because I don't want to look like an idiot. I'm serious! What I mean is, this is one of those things where I always think everyone knows the answer but me. And they're just not telling. For real, I don't mind looking like an idiot here, so that's why I asked ;P

iconomy, I know Kodak is big on the image CD thing so they're a processor to look for. Before my digital days, I had a couple of rolls from my crappy point and shoot developed at Wolf Camera after a vacation. They did the Kodak CD thingie there. I think just about any camera shop that does processing will do the scanning for you. Is there no shop near you? I don't know any of the online processors. I do most of my prints at Costco (and they also do the CD thing), and they are associated with the online Snapfish.

Michael's has them, near where the wood products are. They're like a kind of cardboard, and come in round shapes, boxes, and other types. I'd call them craft balls, but it kind of sounds strange.

Try Ikea for the paper balls.

For the film, you are certainly not the only one who doesn't know the answer. I would probably go to the local shopping mall and ask a camera shop or 1-hour photo place. Sometimes meat people are the easiest alternative, if not as cool as those of us who only exist as pixels.
