When 29 still doesn't equal "mature enough" Things have been rather interesting over here in TrishaLynn-land[More:]

I had a birthday, I've got a boyfriend, I lost my glasses on the floor of Penn Station after a night spent drinking whiskey and sake after waking up in a strange man's apartment on Prince and Sullivan in my bra and panties, I quit smoking and now have a persistent medicinal smell in my nose, I still haven't filed my taxes and I still am about $7K in debt.

I also found my first gray hair. Oddly, I'm just as excited about the gray hair as I am about the boyfriend.

Anyway, back to the being in debt thing. I think I owe about $700 to the IRS from this year and last year. At one point, my mom said she'd be able to pay for it for me and at another point she hinted again that they weren't made of money.

WTF do I do? I already defaulted on an installment agreement from last year. Can I even ask if they'll let me do it again?

Addendum: Why aren't any of the NYC bunnies certified public accountants?
I also found my first gray hair.

I stopped counting awhile ago.

Yay on the bf. They're nice, mostly.

Can I even ask if they'll let me do it again?

It doesn't hurt to ask. This is the US - there's no debtors prison or anything - as long as you're not fraudulent, the IRS is willing to work with you. I like looking at AskMe tax questions to make me feel better about paying them.

Oh yeah the grey hair... it's the only reason I stay fake blonde. My grey hair and I are approaching our 10th anniversary together.

Hi, TL!

(one man's opinion:) more women should let their hair go gray naturally. It can look great. Look at Emmylou Harris:

Since someone is going to ask:

Umm? You OK?

right jon, but Emmylou Harris isn't 23 (my age when I started going grey). I'm a definite believer in going grey gracefully.... after I'm 40. (shut up! I'm shallow! I'm fake! I don't care!)

whiskey and sake?

Almost as lethal as tequila...

I think I'd rather have double blood blisters on my thumb than have a whiskey and sake hangover.

TPS: I'm fine. My ex-roommate had been drinking with us and she was the one who undressed me and put me to sleep on the guy's spare bed. Then again, she also was drinking less than I was and was able to skedaddle back to Flushing none worse for her adventures.

I slipped out of the guy's apartment the next day after using the bathroom and, er, called in sick to work. And then used the bathroom at Penn Station in a different way before taking the bus to my boyfriend's. And when I woke up on the bus to his place, that's when I realized that I'd left my glasses at Penn Station.

Mature enough? Heh. Hopefully this just happens less and less often. Re Maturity, I spent the weekend watching a show called "Little Snow Fairy Sugar." Bear in mind that pi=29 (years old).

I believe I may just have you beat as I just spent the last ten minutes tracking down and watching this youtube video. mind you this was after it came 'round on my mp3 stream. and yes I know it sucks but somehow this lame-ass ridiculous song never fails to cheer me up.

sigh.

lonefrontranger, this is what I was watching.

pi I wouldn't call that immature so much as just freaking creepy. I didn't get much past the floating piano shot before I was completely squicked out.

but then anime has the same effect on me as clowns do on some folk.

Ha! I am taking bets on whether mine all goes grey or all falls out first. Think yourself lucky.

Holy crap. Emmylou Harris will be 60 next Day-After-April-Fools. Holy crap.

I'd take grey hair gladly. I'm starting to loose mine!

Heh, I'm 40 and I'm no where near ready to let my hair go gray. I know there's a little grouping near the top of my head on one side, and a few scattered about, but I'm currently happy to cloak them in red.
Though a good friend of mine, in her 60's, used to dye her hair brown. Her husband kept encouraging her to let it go natural. Finally, she had knee surgery, and couldn't get to the stylists'. She looks better with the beautiful white and gray hair she has. It makes her pretty brown eyes more noticeable.

Well, that makes perfect sense.

I've had gray hair since I was 14.

I found my first grey hair at 17. I started colouring it in my early 20s because, in spite of bits of blonde and red, the overall effect was a blah brown. I quit colouring about a year ago to see how much grey/silver there was. There's quite a bit, but I wish it would get whiter faster.

You could try frosting, deborah. That's probably what I'll do when I decide to finally go gray -- there's so much now that if I let it happen naturally, I'll have an ever widening white stripe on my head, like a skunk.
