Yeah, WTF? I assume that they wouldn't go to all the expense of doing it unless they had some kind of research suggesting it's worthwile... but you've gotta wonder.

Does anyone:

A) sit there listening to it
B) actually form a political opinion based on it

?

We don't get those kinds of calls in the UK (thank God). The only thing that's ever stuck in my mind about them was a 2004 post from Eric Meyer.
