Photo Friday: Are You Gonna Finish That? The theme is 'Your Lunch'.
Here's the sushi chef making our rolls and sashimi.

And here's the partially finished finished product. I had the vegetable rolls, and they were excellent. This was a little sushi place on South Street in Philly.

I'm sorry...you did say "kielbasa omelet" right? Just the phrase made me grab a Tums.

And who else knew those pics were jonmc's before scrolling down?

yes, I did. and it was delicious.

BP, that's such an appealing photo. It looks like an ad.

Yesterday: tuna & sweetcorn pasta, almond croissant & an apple.

Today (not pictured): toast & runny eggs with lashings of ketchup. And an apple.

"lashings of ketchup" would be a great band name. I'm just saying.

I like to eat hearty. And yet I'm still so trim.

(if Jon ever comes through my part of Oregon, he's getting frogmarched down to Saturday Market for a nice, steaming, tofu burrito!)

Gah! So hungry!

Amazing that I have my camera AND my meagre, depressing lunch, as scenically pictured under my desk.

Nice roll of tickets, mgl. I didn't know you worked as a carny.
posted by jonmc 06 October | 11:02
Well, it's a lunch with pretty colors, anyway, MGL! :)

And ico, yours ALMOST make me want to try sushi, they look so nice and inviting.

All of these pics are making me glad I had breakfast!

You should try rolls instead, BP - no raw fish or anything you might not want to try. I never get sushi, but love the rolls. We make them at home too. I could eat them every day! It's basically just a roll of fresh veggies wrapped in rice and nori sheets. Orgasmic!

I haven't eaten my lunch yet (it's in the fridge at work and hopefully will still be edible Monday). It's a ziplock back filled with cut-up celery and peppers, and a big handful of sugar-snap peas.

I didn't get to eat it today because I spent the hours of 12-2 giving head massages with one of those copper prongy massage thingies for a charity appeal in the office.

One brave lad got his legs waxed. He raised a lot of money.

Dear Lord. Did someone buy him some fishnets to show them off?

Come on down, jon, we're having SPACE DAY tomorrow, with planetarium shows every hour on the hour in the inflateable STARLAB planetarium! hence the tickets. and i have to work tomorrow, and my lunch wasn't very nice and now i am sad.

When I saw jonmc's lunches, I didn't need a caption to figure out who they belonged to. Way to keep it real, dude!
posted by pieisexactlythree 06 October | 12:10
heh. actually today I'm having a pastrami rueben, salt & vinegar chips and black cherry soda. I seem to be possessed by the ghost of a man named Irving.

He wore boardshorts.

And yes, I guessed jon's lunches too.

Dinner will be zapped in the microwave in a minute. Leftovers from yesterday - sweet chili chicken stirfry with lots of veggies, and brown rice. Fresh pineapple with fruit compote and Greek yoghurt after.

And, it's Friday, so that means a new episode of King of the Hill starts in about 16 minutes from now. Yay.

I have restaurants within 25 steps in both directions, but I am SO sick of both of them (actually just of the mexican place, the other one has never been any good). I would get some seafood nachos just for the photo, but last time I had it it made me sick.

:D

Having sat across from jonmc at the buffet at Bellagio in Las Vegas, I can attest to his stomach of iron. The man's a machine.

Oh, and jon, I can make a lasagne dish with a tofu-based sauce that'll have you swearing up and down that it's meat. No lie. Last time I made it, I had vegetarians refusing to eat it because they said that it had meat in it. Took me 10 min. to convince them that it was 100% veggie.

Can of organic black beans ($1.19 or less.) Microwave for four minutes on high. Add salt for black bean soup or chile powder for black bean chile (seasonings, veggies, whatever, are optional.)
